Malayalam actor Honey Rose in a recent television interview confessed that there the casting couch exists in the film industry. According to a report in Online Manorama, she said, “Yes, it is true that casting couch exists in the industry. Unless and until you are a big star, every woman artiste gets to face various problems.”
She recalled the early days of her career and said, “Initially when I joined the industry, there have been times, when I have witnessed many such incidents. There would be times when you will be brainwashed. But an artist should know her place and stick to her values.”
The actor, who rose to fame with her role in Trivandrum Lodge, also said, “We make our decisions and we are responsible for everything that happens to us. Casting couch will be there.”
Honey said that one has to take precautions to not fall victim to abusers. She said, “You are safe as long as you don’t have to please anyone physically. In my case, my parents always accompany me on my sets and they always make sure that I am at ease during my work.”
Honey Rose was last seen in director Omar Lulu’s adult comedy Chunkzz in 2017. She is currently filming for director Vinayan’s Chalakkudykkaran Changathi and if reports are to be believed, she might also do a sequel to Chunkzz as well.
