Bangladesh beat Namibia by 87 runs in ICC U-19 WC

Sports desk: Bangladesh, at the back of quick fire half centuries from Mohammad Naim (43-ball 60) and Saif Hassan (48-ball 84), registered a massive 87-run win over Namibia to begin their ICC U-19 World Cup campaign on a strong note held at Bert Sutcliffe Oval, Lincoln on Saturday.

Put to bat first by Namibia, Bangladesh piled up a massive total of 190 for 4 in curtailed 20 overs match due to rain. In reply, Namibia found the chase stiff and was eventually restricted at 103 for 6 in 20 overs, BSS reports.

Eben van Wyk’s 52-ball 55 had a little consequence as the other batsmen in the side failed to face the tight bowling displayed by the junior Tigers.

Hasan Mahmud and Kazi Anik shared two wickets each conceding 12 and 14 runs respectively.
