Bangladesh thrash Sri Lanka to enter final


Sports desk: What a tremendous over boundary by Mahmudullah Riyad which lifted Bangladesh to the fight of the title of the Nidahas Trophy at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo of Sri Lanka.

The cool-headed batsman secured the much-needed victory against Sri Lanka when the supporters of Bangladesh lost patience as they needed at least six runs in only two balls.

However, Mahmudullah Riyad made a stunning over boundery in the second last ball of Bangladesh innings that broke down the dream of host Sri Lanka on Friday.

Bangladesh chased down Sri Lanka’s 160 target loss of eight wickets and entered the final Nidahas Trophy, thanks to Mahmudullah Riyad’s 43 off just 18 balls.

Tamim Iqbal Played a 50-run innings.

Earlier, Sri Lanka set a target of 160 runs against Bangladesh in the 6th match of T20 Nidahas Trophy.

Kusal Perera and Thisara Perera added 97 runs for the sixth wicket after losing five wickets in just 41 runs.

Kusal Perera played an outstanding innings of 61 runs off 40 balls with one over boundary and 7 boundaries while Thisra Perera added 58 runs off 37 balls.

Mustafizur Rahman was the best of Bangladeshi bowlers, taking two wickets.

Bangladesh Captain Shakib Al Hasan decided to bowl first against Sri Lanka.
