The investigation officer of the case Mohammadpur Thana SI Md Yeahia said they arrested him around 8am from his home in Aminbazaar at the outskirts of the capital.
bdnews24.com adds: The woman had filed the case on Jan 5, said Mohammadpur police’s OC Jamal Uddin Mir said.
“She complained that Arafat Sunny had been sending her indecent pictures over the Facebook messenger for some time,” the police official told reporters.
“He has been arrested on the basis of these allegations.”
Sub-inspector Yahiya, the investigation officer of the case, told bdnews24.com that, “Arafat Sunny will be sent to the court in a while.”
Bangladesh Cricket Board is yet to give an official statement on the issue.
“We are still trying to find out the details,” the board’s media committee chief Jalal Yunus said.
