He breathed his last at Manhattan’s Mount Sinai Hospital New York time Saturday12:55 noon.
The recitation artiste had been undergoing treatment at the hospital as his heart’s bulb was not working. His heart bulb was replaced and he had undergone a coronary artery bypass surgery on Tuesday.
He was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as his condition deteriorated after the surgery. He died at the ICU Saturday morning.
Born in 1952 in Faridpur, the noted elocutionist participated in the 1971 Liberation War from sector 1.
He received the Kazi Sabyasachi Memorial Award in 2016.
