Dhaka: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is dealing the Rohingya issue with wisdom and caution to end the crisis peacefully.
“We are ignoring any provocation of a political party as they want to reap ill political gains capitalizing on the Rohingya issue,” he told journalists after a cheque distribution function at the Companiganj upazila of the district.
Quader, also the general secretary of ruling Awami League, said the speech of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has been lauded by the global community, but a political party did not like her speech as they have no ability to understand it.
“We are taking steps very carefully to reach a peaceful solution of the Rohingya crisis… We should not be misguided by any vested quarter over the Rohingya issue,” he added, reports BSS.
Companiganj Upazila Chairman Mizanur Rahman, Kompaniganj upazila unit Awami League President Khijir Hayat Khan and officials of the local administration, among others, were present on the occasion.
