Irregularities on road will not be tolerated: PM

Dhaka: Drivers, steering the vehicles without sufficient training, are mainly responsible for the accidents and irregularities on roads, says Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Warning unskilled drivers, the Prime minister said: “We always put strong emphasise on the adequate training of drivers. The government will not tolerate any kind of irregularities on the roads.”

The prime minister came up with the warnings while laying the foundation stone of an underpass near Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School and College in the capital on Sunday.

Speaking at the programme, the premier said: “The drivers of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan will not get any mercy as they are responsible for the pathetic road crash that claimed two lives on July 29. They will be brought to book soon.”

Earlier on July 29, two students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School and College were killed and 12 others received injuries on Airport Road as a Jabal-e-Noor bus ploughed through a crowd, while competing with another bus of the same company.
