Dhaka: Kader Siddiqui’s Krishak Sramik Janata League (KSJL) on Monday formally joined Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikyafront.
Kader Siddiqui joined the newly formed opposition political alliance, aiming to ensure a credible and acceptable national election in the country.
Siddiqui, and also President of the KSJL, made the announcement at a press conference held at his party office in the capital’s Motijheel area today.
While speaking at the press conference he said: “I announce my party’s decision that from now on we are with Dr Kamal Hossain-led Oikyafront.”
“We joined the political alliance as we want a free, fair, credible and inclusive national election slated to be held by the last week of December this year,” the press conference was also told.
Oikya Front is an alliance of the BNP, Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya, ASM Abdur Rob’s Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, and Mahmudur Rahman Manna’s Nagorik Oikya.
On October 13, BNP, Jatiya Oikya Prokriya and Jukta Front launched the new opposition alliance, ‘Jatiya Oikyafront’, ahead of the 11th national election.
