Khaleda Zia to be taken to BSMMU today: Anisul Huq


Dhaka:Law Minister Anisul Huq said BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia will be taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) for medical tests on Sunday after her personal doctors claimed she had suffered a mild stroke.

The law minister made the remarks while talking to reporters during distribution of car keys to district judges at his secretariat office in Dhaka.

Ealier on Saturday, four doctors from BNP chief’s physicians told the media that she has suffered a mild stroke in jail on June 5 and she became senseless.

On February 8, a special court sentenced Khaleda to five years’ rigorous imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.

Khaleda, a 73-year-old former prime minister, was taken to the old central jail minutes after the verdict had been delivered.
