October 26, 2016 – New York, New York – This past weekend Khan’s Tutorial celebrated their Common Core & High School Achievement Program students’ fantastic scores during KT’s Perfect Score Weekend. Students and their families returned to their centers to celebrate the good news with their Instructors. Families also received invitations and tickets to KT’s Annual Achievement Awards Ceremony taking place early next month at York College.
“In addition to our outstanding Common Core students we have many High School students who scored above a 2000 on the SAT and 95 or higher on multiple Regents Exams. I am very happy to see such young, talented, and ambitious individuals come to Khan’s and take advantage of our resources to advance their growth in knowledge. We look forward to celebrating with these hardworking students and parents at our awards ceremony,” said Mrs. Nayeema Khan, Khan’s Tutorial Chairperson.
This year, Khan’s Tutorial had 537 students score perfect 4/4s on their Common Core exams – 291 students scored double 4s and 246 students scored a single 4. A score of 4/4 means that these students met and excelled beyond the standards set for elementary and junior high school students. This puts Khan’s students amongst the top 11.8% of all NYS students who scored a 4 on their 2016 ELA exam and the top 17.8% of students who scored a 4 on their 2016 Math exam. In terms of students in Khan’s High School Achievement Program, 84 students had competitive scores on their SAT or Regents exam.
“I’m amazed at the expansion and success of our program over the past few years. Increasing from 325 Common Core students achieving perfect scores in 2015 to 537 students this year would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of KT Managers, Instructors, and parents,” said Director of Common Core Nadia Hossain.
“I am extremely proud of the growth of our program and the success of our hardworking students and their Instructors. I’d like to thank all of our High School Instructors, Quality Managers, and Directors – it is through their dedication that we see our students’ success rates multiply each year,” said the Director of High School Achievement Program, Ms. Tasneem Imam Khan. Ms. Khan is a graduate of Barnard College and received her master’s degree in healthcare management from Columbia University. Currently, she is leading Khan’s new college admissions program which focuses on getting high school seniors into top colleges with as many scholarships and as much financial aid as possible.
