Dhaka: A Malaysia-bound US-Bangla aircraft made an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Saturday morning.

The plane made the emergency landing at the airport 15 minutes after taking off due to a technical glitch.

The aircraft flew again carrying the passengers once the technical glitch is fixed, officials of the privately owned Bangladeshi airline have confirmed.

All the passengers and crew members were reportedly safe.

Earlier on March 20, a domestic flight of national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines made an emergency landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The Saidpur-bound Dash-8 made the emergency landing at the airport around 1pm, soon after it took off from the same airport at 12:30pm on the day.

At least 51 people, including 26 Bangladeshi nationals, were killed as the US-Bangla Airlines aircraft crashed and burst into flames at Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital of Himalayan county Nepal on March 12.
